"I was charged with a felony that I was completely innocent of, conviction would have resulted in up to 20 years in prison.  Because of the arguments Keith presented, the court ruled that the felony charge was improper and it was dropped."

Federal Drug Trafficking Defense Lawyer Serving the Boston Area

Make no mistake: If you face federal drug charges, you have a difficult fight on your hands. No one — not the prosecutor, not the judge nor the witnesses arrayed against you — is going to do you any favors. To have a chance, you need an experienced and knowledgeable defense attorney working for you.

Arrested for Drug Trafficking or Distribution? I Can Help.

I defend clients accused of large-scale narcotics trafficking, drug smuggling and other federal and state drug crimes. I have over 20 years experience and a record of success defending clients in federal drug cases ranging from gang-related distribution to major drug trafficking. My objective is always to protect the rights and preserve the freedom of my clients. Contact me to schedule a consultation to discuss your criminal defense.

Experienced, Aggressive Drug Defense Lawyer

I represent clients facing federal drug charges involving all types of illegal drugs, such as cocaine, heroin, methamphetamines (meth), crack, ecstasy and other illegal substances. I handle federal drug crimes involving:

  • Drug trafficking/drug distribution
  • Possession with intent to distribute
  • Drug smuggling
  • Drug cultivation
  • Drug manufacture
  • Drug conspiracy
  • Other drug charges

In addition, I provide racketeering/RICO defense representation to individuals who are facing racketeering charges in connection with federal drug conspiracy charges or other drug charges.

Evidence Suppression in Federal Drug Cases

The evidence collected in a drug bust, drug arrest or search and seizure (i.e. the confiscated drugs) is often the key evidence for drug charges. I thoroughly investigate the means in which law enforcement collected such evidence. If the drugs were obtained through an invalid search warrant or in an illegal search and seizure, then your rights have been violated. I have been successful in the past in suppressing evidence based on legal or technical grounds (such as search warrant technicalities), and will use every legal tool available to weaken and undermine the prosecution's case.

Sentencing Alternatives and Downward Departures

In dealing with cases in which a conviction on federal drug charges is unavoidable, it is essential to work with an attorney who has comprehensive knowledge and skill working with the federal sentencing guidelines. I routinely work with experts to devise sentencing alternatives to incarceration. In federal sentencing proceedings I am skilled in finding creative ways to achieve the most lenient sentence possible, including arguments for downward departures from the harsh federal sentencing guidelines.

In a case where I was retained years after my client was convicted of bank robbery at trial, I won a motion to vacate his sentence and then successfully argued the largest downward departure ever achieved in Massachusetts, a 12-year reduction based upon an exhaustive presentation of evidence of my client's rehabilitation.
